How does the signature background removal work?
The tool analyzes the brightness of every pixel and makes near-white or light areas transparent, keeping the darker ink. A soft ramp at the threshold edge keeps the strokes smooth instead of jagged. It is tuned for ink on white paper, which covers almost all signature scans.
What should I do if parts of my signature disappear?
Lower the threshold slider. A high threshold removes aggressively and can eat thin strokes; a low one keeps more of the paper texture. Around 70 to 80 percent works for most scans, adjust while watching the live preview.
How do I use the transparent PNG afterwards?
Insert it into Word, Google Docs, PDF editors, or HTML exactly like a normal image. Because the background is transparent, only the ink shows, so it overlays cleanly on contracts, forms, and letterheads.
Is my signature uploaded anywhere?
No. The threshold processing happens entirely in your browser with the Canvas API. Your signature is sensitive, so this tool was built to work 100% offline. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
