CompressImg is a free online tool designed to help you compress images quickly and easily. Images are sent over HTTPS through our Cloudflare Worker to TinyPNG for perceptual optimization; if further reduction is needed, a local Canvas re-encode is performed in your browser.
Our mission is simple: provide fast, reliable compression with honest explanations of where image processing occurs.
Our story
CompressImg was created out of frustration with image compression tools that are cluttered with ads, require registration, or hide where your files actually go. We set out to build a fast, free tool that explains exactly where your image is processed, discloses what is retained and for how long, and never asks for personal information.
How it works
CompressImg uses a two-stage approach: images are first sent to TinyPNG through our HTTPS Worker. The Worker keeps no image copy, while TinyPNG may temporarily retain submitted content for up to 48 hours under its terms. If the result is above your selected limit, the browser adjusts JPEG quality and dimensions locally.
