Which favicon sizes do I actually need?
This tool generates the practical set: 16 and 32 pixel for browser tabs, 180 pixel for Apple touch icons on iOS, and 192 plus 512 pixel for Android home screens and PWAs. Together they cover virtually every real-world use without the legacy .ico format.
What image should I upload?
A square image works best because favicons are square. If your image is not square, it is centered and letterboxed with transparency. Use a simple, high-contrast design: favicons are tiny, so fine details disappear.
How do I install the generated favicons?
Download the ZIP, upload the PNG files to your site root (or a /favicons folder), and paste the provided HTML snippet inside your head tag. The snippet references the 16, 32, and 180 pixel icons, which is all most sites need.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. All resizing happens in your browser with the Canvas API, and the ZIP is built locally with JavaScript. Your image never leaves your device.
