How do I crop an image to a specific aspect ratio?
Pick an aspect preset (1:1 square, 4:3, 16:9, or passport) and the crop box snaps to that ratio. Drag the corners to resize it and drag inside to reposition, then click Crop image. The output is cut from the full-resolution original, so quality is preserved.
Can I rotate the image before cropping?
Yes. The Rotate 90 button turns the image a quarter turn before you crop, which is handy for horizontal photos that need to be vertical or vice versa. Rotate as many times as you need.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping removes pixels outside the box but never resamples the ones inside it, so the kept region is pixel-identical to the original. The output dimensions are simply the size of your crop selection.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser. The image is read locally, displayed on your device, and processed with the Canvas API. Nothing ever leaves your computer.
